A fantastic place to relax after a long day of walking. Drinks were well priced, food was fantastic and large portions! Marcus and the rest of the team were so friendly and welcoming, a breath of fresh air compared to pubs down south! Highly recommended. Good vegan options too if that's your thing.
The location is beautiful, and the room great we had a lake view which was gorgeous. But what made the trip were the staff, every staff member was so friendly, especially Jack who was in the bar area, who was so helpful and chatty throughout our trip, but also we had an issue with our food which he was extremely helpful and kind enough to give us a free drink which we didn’t expect. We definitely recommend and will be returning, as the staff were so nice and happy.
a great choice if you want to explore buttermere. no-fuss hotel Scored 9/10 great location! lovely friendly staff. very generous and attentive to requests at breakfast. recommend the full cumbrian! cleaned the room and bathroom well every day. nice to have no-fuss parking on site - handy for leaving car there without a worry before exploring buttermere. wifi was a bit sketchy - in room and downstairs. carpets looked a bit old and musty. restaurant food was so so. once or twice when I tried to call reception from local area, no answer. however, in person, they were always friendly and helpful.
We came here for a drink and ice cream after a day out around Lake Buttermere. It’s a lovely location and we sat outside and admired the view as we rested after a long day. A great location and plenty of seating inside and out. The WiFi is also handy as very patchy signal around the area, and also toilets for customers if you need them! Service was also exceptional, everyone was welcoming and friendly.
